About this project

BRH was contracted to perform work on damage that had resulted from lightning which struck the historic Daniel Boone Homestead.

What we did

The lightning pierced the shake roofing, damaged plaster on the interior, and removed sections of mortar on the exterior of the brownstone structure. The wiring of the security system had fried and dust and debris had settled on the historic surfaces and artifacts on the interior of the house.

The entire interior of the historic home was cleaned. Cleaning tests were performed on each type of material to ensure finishes were not altered or compromised before the work was performed. The artifacts were also cleaned after similar testing had been conducted. Restoration repairs to the plaster, shake roofing, and damage mortar were also completed.
